Who is Jesus?

What does the Bible say?
There are many claims about who Jesus is in the Bible. When it’s all said, we find that Jesus is God the Son. He is sinless, holy, and our Saviour. The world is accountable to Him and one day every person who has ever lived, is alive today, and alive in the future will be humbled in His presence. While we see this person of holiness, we must also recognize that He loves us. When he died on the cross in our place, He became our Saviour.
He is the creator God
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
John 1:1-3
He is the Son of God
While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid. And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.
Matthew 17:5-7
He is the Saviour of the world
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel: Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.
2 Timothy 1:9-11
Who did Jesus claim to be?
People often wonder, did Jesus claim to be what Christians claim about Jesus? The answer is, Yes. We gather our understanding of Christ, not from religion, but from the very words of Jesus Christ. While there have been false statements regarding the words Christ, we must recognize that history itself bears record of the Bible verses listed below. Jesus made these claims long before fraudulent claims existed.
The Son of God
My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and my Father are one. Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
John 10:29-31
God the Son
Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
John 5:18
The only way to heaven
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 14:6
He is everything we need
We need him. He gave Himself for us.Our Need For Jesus
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
Romans 3:10-12
Jesus Came For Us
…they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners? When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Mark 2:16b-17
He Loves The World
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
John 3:16-17
He Gave His Life For You
Our Reality
The fact of the matter is that there is a difference between mankind and God. We are sinners. God is holy. His holiness demands justice. Therefore, as sinners, God has mandated death be our penalty. Though many understand physical death, we must also remember that we are spiritual creatures. God has also created a “second death” which we face as sinners. Take note, in the verse below, liars face the same punishment as murders.
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Revelation 21:8
Our Remedy
Now that we understand that we must face two deaths, God has created
a remedy for us! The entire reason Jesus came into the world was to pay our debt of sin. This is why Jesus died on the cross. He knew that death was the final payment, so He died as the sinless Lamb of God for our sins. He not only died, but He rose from the grave three days and three nights later. He can save us from death because He died and still conquered death. Simply put, He died so we can live.
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
I Corinthians 15:3-4
Who Are You Going To Trust?
Either you accept His payment, or you pay for your own sins.Do you understand your punishment?
In your sin, you are destined to face eternal punishment. Again, that is why Jesus came…to save you from your sin.
Will you call on Him to save you?
God knows that you can’t save yourself. He made it so that all you must do is trust what He did for you by calling on Him to save you. It’s not religion or being good that saves you. It is Jesus alone that can save you.
God loves you and wants to save you
You are His creation. Yes you are a sinner, but He loves you and made a way to be saved from your sin.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Romans 10:9
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Romans 10:13
Let us help you call on Christ
If you understand you need to be saved from your sins and truly want to ask Jesus to save you, then we urge you to call on Christ today. While a prayer does not save us, calling on Christ does. If you truly want to call on Christ today, then please make these words your heart cry to God:
Jesus, I know that I am a sinner worthy of the Lake of Fire. I believe that you died in my place to pay for my sin. I also believe that you rose from the grave to give me eternal life. I am calling you to save me and give me eternal life. Thank you Jesus. Amen!
